Japanese carrier NTT Docomo has started rolling out the Marshmallow update for the Xperia Z5 family. All three models sold in the region including the Z5, Compact, and Premium can be updated to the latest Android via OTA. According to the official statement, the update is not available through the Sony's own PC software but it shouldn't be the case for long.

Main updates are as follows.

- Launcher swipe effect added.

- Camera interface updated.

- You can now filter out call types in your history.

- Small apps panel will be scrolled out in the multitasking panel to provide wider view.

- Screenshot notification can be removed.

- Security measure other than fingerprint will be required on initial boot.

Japan is usually the latest part of the globe to receive any kind of updates, but they managed to bring a pleasant surprise this time. Other regions should be soon to follow, including older models including the Z3+ and the Z3 series.
